What We Do

Our “Journey Home” program begins with stabilizing a working family experiencing homelessness. We provide 16 weeks of no-cost transitional housing while teaching life skills and financial literacy. Each family is required to save a portion of their income while also paying off debts that keep them from being housed. This income, placed in escrow, is then returned to families and used for self-sustained housing upon graduation. Families receive guidance in managing personal finances, setting attainable goals, seeking permanent affordable housing, and maintaining their employment. Over a 16-week period, families learn skills required for self-sufficiency through mandatory weekly meetings, followed by twelve months of workforce development and home ownership preparation.

Create Personalized Plan

Create Personalized Plan

Throughout their 16 weeks our families develop the necessary skills and tools to help support themselves. After those 16 weeks are over it's time for the next step in their lives, moving into our graduate program and putting their skills to the test. By developing a personalized plan our families can prepare themselves for the next stage in their journey.
Transitional Housing

Transitional Housing

We want our families to focus on improving themselves and their situation. In order to do that, we remove the housing concern from their equation. After a careful screening and selection process, families are accepted into our 16-week short-term transitional housing. This allows our families to save money and focus on what really matters.

Job Enrichment

Job Enrichment

We want to give our families every opportunity to succeed. Through our strategic partnerships we can provide our families with connections to a variety of paths they can explore. Our partners help with paid training internships, educational assessments, industry-specific certifications and more chances to help our families gain better employment.
Homeownership

Homeownership

The culmination of our program, homeownership is a goal we try to help each of our families achieve. We assist our graduate families along with support from our professional homeownership program partners. Families learn how to develop and prepare for purchasing a home, as well as how to repair their credit and remove other barriers in their way.
