IRA Giving for Website
IRA giving is a tax-efficient way to support causes you care about by making charitable donations directly from your Individual Retirement Account (IRA). Individuals aged 73 or older can transfer funds annually from their traditional IRA to a qualified nonprofit organization, tax-free. This process, known as a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), allows you to satisfy required minimum distributions without increasing your taxable income. Please consult your tax advisor for more details
IRS Retirement plan and IRA required minimum distributions FAQs
Making a QCD provides an opportunity to make a charitable contribution that you might otherwise not have been able to make and/or receive potential tax benefits for charitable contributions that you are already making. You should consult your tax advisor and estate-planning attorney about your situation.
To give through your IRA, contact your IRA custodian to initiate the transfer directly to The Carying Place or the charity of your choice. It’s a simple way to make a meaningful impact while enjoying potential tax benefits. Please note, IRA distributions must be transferred to The Carying Place no later than Dec. 31 of the current tax year so be sure to contact your IRA custodian and tax advisor in advance.
