Laura Grelck joined The Carying Place as Director of Development in 2023.

Laura is a nonprofit leader and communications strategist who has worked with nonprofits, such as the V Foundation for Cancer Research and A Doorway to Hope, as well as large corporations and small businesses in multiple industries in the Raleigh area. She is a North Carolina State University graduate and a Cary native who has seen our community grow in leaps and bounds. 

Her passion for serving working, low-income families began years ago when she first began volunteering with A Doorway to Hope. Laura believes it is our responsibility care for one another, especially those families struggling and facing crises. “We can strengthen our whole community by breaking the cycle of homelessness, one family at a time.”

As the Director of Development, Laura oversees donor programs and strategic campaigns to help The Carying Place grow to serve even more families. She enjoys building relationships with individuals who want to personally impact families facing homelessness and striving to reach stability.
