“We have learned lifetime skills to budget, plan our finances, and coping skills, and have been introduced to resources to help our family succeed in different areas. We went through the motions of others having full access to our finances and past mistakes, and it has truly helped us build better habits that will not allow us to fall back into the same rabbit hole. Please utilize your support team. They are your #1 resource. The experience, wisdom, and resources they have are like no other. Be open to their input and perspective. It will be hard at first, but worth it in the end.”

Our Hidden Homeless

When you think of homelessness, do you imagine a teacher, fireman, Amazon driver, grocery cashier, or Uber driver? The Carying Place empowers working, homeless families with children in the Triangle!

As housing costs have soared and wages have stagnated, many families in our community face dire situations. Wake County’s homeless population has nearly doubled since 2020, with over 6,500 children experiencing homelessness this year.

Our Approach

Our Journey Home Program offers individualized life skills lessons, short-term housing, and support services to prepare families for independent living and stable housing. Since our inception, TCP has served over 545 families and 1,500 children, aiming to change their futures for generations.
